|Frequently Asked Questions about Lang pools
Thank you for considering Lang Pools, Inc where we build swimming pools and relationships! We look forward to working with you on your swimming pool project.
What geographical area does Lang Pools, Inc. cover?
We cover Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY.
What kind of pools do you build?
We build concrete (gunite) inground pools and vinyl liner swimming pools.
Do you offering financing for your swimming pools?
Yes we can finance your swimming pool.
When is the best time to build a swimming pool?
Anytime is a great time to build, but obviously most people think Spring/Summer is the best time to build. This actually is not always the case since that is the busiest time of year. We find the fall to be an ideal time to build since you are then guaranteed a full season come next spring, plus there are much less delays in the fall/winter since weather is more predictable and town building inspectors are less busy for necessary inspections. Plus now come spring time you can do your landscape without the pool guys in the yard. We have been known to dig pools in snowy weather just to get a head start to ensure a full season for our customers. It is much nicer to be enjoying nice weather and see water in your pool than to watch it be built. So anytime including fall/winter is a good time to start your new pool.
What kind of pools do you service?
We service all types of inground swimming pools.
Some pool companies only work on their own pools, what about your company?
We will work on pools built by other companies as long as an inspection ensures the quality of the pool.
Do you sell pool chemicals?
Yes, we carry the Proteam brand of pool chemicals. All the chemicals we carry in our store are safe for concrete and vinyl liner pools.
Do you test pool water?
Yes, we offer free computer analysis water testing for all of our customers. We are the only pool company to offer this service. We want to assist our customers in properly maintaining their pool. Come see us!
What is the cost of an inground pool such as those shown in your photo gallery section?
There is no easy answer for this question as each and every pool is custom designed and built for each customer. There are many factors (including site conditions, pool features, and design) that greatly affect the cost of the project. We find that pool companies that sell typical vinyl swimming pools (18′ x 36′) pools for less than $25,000 are cutting corners, which is something we do not do. Our average pool with decking and many accessories is about $30,000-$60,000. Where our concrete pools are on the higher end of that scale.
If I approved the project today, how long will it take to build my pool?
Most projects are normally completed in a 3 to 6 week period after receiving the necessary pool permits from the towns. Our vinyl liner swimming pools average about 3-4 weeks after commencement where our concrete pools take more like 4-6 weeks. If there are delays beyond these time frames, it is usually due to delays beyond the contractor’s control; weather being the number one factor. Another factor in delays can be site inspections being completed. We do not control these factors but we strive to complete each and every project on time and will provide you with an estimated start and completion date during the contract process.
What does Lang Pools do that the competition doesn’t?
When we build a pool in your yard we are not only creating a vacation land, but we are also building a relationship with you. We continue our relationship with our customer after the construction is completed. We offer water analysis in our store and we have educated personnel in the office to answer your questions. Plus we build a mostly automated swimming pool that allows you to enjoy it without the work. Simply put, our hearts are in it. We do not compare ourselves to the “competition” as you would normally define them. We do not match our strengths against their weaknesses. We leave that analysis up to you.
How many pools do you build a year?
On average we build 25-30 pools a year. We build as many pools as our schedule will allow. Many companies will build more, but they often do not provide the service and communication we offer. We are up front with potential customers about scheduling and we pride ourselves on meeting completion dates.
Will I need a permit for my new pool and who applies for the permit?
All swimming pools need a permit to be constructed. Most towns this will require seeing at least 4 departments-Healths Dept, Conservation Department, Zoning Department and Building Department. We understand that this would be an inconvenience for our customers, so we will handle the permit process for you. Since we build pools in many towns we have established relationships with town inspectors and office personnel. We do not charge you for the permit, although you will have to reimburse us for the permit fees charged by the town you live in. Many towns have a different payment scale but on average permit fees are about $300-$600.
How do I get started if I’m interested in obtaining a pool?
First thing you should do is consider the size and scope of the pool project. Next, locate a site plan and see how well your ideas fit into the site constraints. Then, after envisioning what you would like, contact Lang Pools to set an appointment to come out and visit your property.
During our visit, we will offer you some of our ideas and give you feedback on your own “visions”, while working within site parameters. We will then provide you with a plan on how we can help you make your pool project a resounding success.
